Roland Blickhan, born in 1947, studied law at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt from 1968 to 1974. Even during his legal clerkship from 1974 to 1977, he specialized in labor law, works constitution law, and business law. He worked for employers as an in-house counsel for AGV Südhessen in Darmstadt from 1977 to 1985.
Roland Blickhan has been admitted to the bar since 1985. From 1985 to 1991, Roland Blickhan was Head of Human Resources and Legal Affairs at an internationally operating mechanical engineering company based in South Hesse. In 1992, Peter A. Kolb and Roland Blickhan founded the law firm Kolb, Blickhan & Partner, which had existed for 20 years as of 2012.
From 1994 to 2022, Roland Blickhan was a certified lawyer for Labor law. He has many years of experience as a lecturer and speaker, as well as an honorary judge. In addition to the aforementioned areas of law, his areas of focus include commercial law, corporate law, and contract law for services. He also has an interest in association, organization, and sports law. Roland Blickhan's practice is shaped by a fundamental principle gained from over six thousand representations, particularly before labor courts up to the Federal Labor Court and civil courts up to the Higher Regional Courts: to seek the most reasonable solution economically and socially for all parties involved in a dispute at every point of disagreement, and to reconcile opposing viewpoints whenever possible. As a lawyer, one must not rely on court decisions, but solely on one's own judgment.
